Last Man Standing app: run your LMS without the spreadsheet

Last Man Standing, without the admin. Terrace Tally runs your group’s Last Man Standing (LMS) on everyone’s phone: picks, deadlines, results, who is through and who is out. You choose the rules; we do the chasing, checking and crossing off. No spreadsheet, no WhatsApp roll call on a Friday night.

Why run your Last Man Standing on Terrace Tally

  • The top four divisions of English football. Build your game from any mix of the Premier League, the Championship, League One and League Two: up to 92 clubs to pick from, so the easy picks last longer and the upsets come thicker. More leagues are on the way. If your group wants one we do not cover yet, tell us on the waiting list.
  • Your rules, all of them. Draws, lives, missed picks, postponed matches, everyone going out at once, re-entry, more than one entry each: every rule is a setting, and everyone can read the rules in the app.
  • Admin done for you. Rounds open and close on their own, results come in automatically, used teams are tracked, and reminders go out before the deadline. The person running it only steps in when they want to.
  • Built for the person running it. Enter a pick for someone who messages it to you, keep a list of who has paid, and bring an existing game over from a spreadsheet part way through.
  • Nothing to do with betting. No odds, no bets, no prize money through the app. It is a game between mates, and any entry fee stays between you.
  • On every phone. It runs in the phone’s browser and adds to the home screen like an app, with notifications. Nothing to download from an app store.
  • Two games, one app. Run a Predictions League in the same friends group, with the same sign-in.

How to play Last Man Standing

  1. Pick one team to win. Each round is usually a weekend’s fixtures from the leagues your game uses, from the Premier League down to League Two.
  2. Win and you are through. A draw or a defeat puts you out, unless your game gives you lives or lets a draw survive.
  3. You cannot use the same team twice. Every pick uses up a team, so the easy picks run out as the weeks go on.
  4. Last one standing wins. Keep going until only one entry is left.

In Terrace Tally you pick on your phone and can change your mind until the deadline. Nobody sees anyone else’s pick until then; at the deadline everyone’s picks are shown, and you can share them to the group chat in one tap.

The last one standing gets the bragging rights, and plenty of groups agree a forfeit too: see our forfeit ideas.

Last Man Standing rules you can set

No two groups play it quite the same, so every rule is configurable. The person running the game chooses, and everyone can read the rules in the app.

Last Man Standing admin, done for you

Running a Last Man Standing usually means a spreadsheet, a WhatsApp group and a lot of chasing: who has picked, who used which team, which results came in, who is out. Terrace Tally takes that admin burden off the person running it.

  • Rounds run themselves. Once you press Start, rounds open, lock and settle every week without you.
  • Results you never enter. Fixtures and results come from our football data feed, postponements included, and every pick is marked won, drawn, lost or called off.
  • No chasing. Members get a reminder before picks close if they have not picked, and you can see who has at a glance.
  • Picks by message still count. If someone sends you their pick, enter it for them, before the deadline or late. It is labelled, so everyone knows.
  • Used teams are tracked for you. Nobody can pick a team twice, and nobody has to check.
  • A paid list. Tick off who has paid you, with the amount and a total. The money never goes through Terrace Tally.
  • A record you can show. Every round’s result says who went out and why, so there is nothing to argue about.

Swap the spreadsheet

Already running a Last Man Standing on a spreadsheet? Bring it with you. Import the current round from a spreadsheet with four columns (name, email, pick and paid), check the preview, and carry on in the app from the next round. Nobody has to start again.

Not just the Premier League

Most Last Man Standing apps stop at the Premier League’s 20 clubs, so the easy picks are gone within a few weeks. A Terrace Tally game can use all 92 clubs, or just the Championship, League One or League Two, and every team on the pick screen shows its league position and recent form. Who it’s for

  • At work: the office game, without the spreadsheet or the Friday chasing.
  • With friends: your group chat’s Last Man Standing, whoever everyone supports.
  • Supporters’ clubs and fan sites: a game for your members, listeners or readers, alongside a prediction league for your club.

Online football games for mates

Last Man Standing sits alongside the Predictions League in the same app. Run one or both in the same friends group; everyone signs in once, with an email code and no password.

Questions

Is this betting?

No. Terrace Tally does not take bets, collect entry fees or hold prize money. If your game has an entry fee, it is paid to the person running the game, as it is now. The app only records who has paid.

Do we all have to support the same club?

No. Unlike the Predictions League, Last Man Standing is not tied to a club. Anyone can pick any team in the game’s leagues.

How big can a game be?

As big as your group: a pub, a workplace, a family or a five-a-side team. Everyone in the friends group can join until round one’s picks close, and the person running it can add people after that.

What happens if my match is postponed?

By default you survive the round, but you need two picks next round and both must win. The game’s rules can change that.

What does it cost?

Nothing while we test it. We will say well before anything changes.
