Who we are
Terrace Tally is operated by Maven Technology Services Ltd, trading as Mavents, registered in England and Wales (company number 09694415), 32 Eyre Street, Sheffield, S1 4QZ. We decide how the personal information described here is used. Contact us at hello@terracetally.com.
What this notice covers
Part 1 covers this website, the waiting list and enquiries. Part 2 covers the Terrace Tally app: your account, your friends groups and your games. Joining the waiting list does not create an app account.
Part 1: the website and waiting list
| Information | Why we use it and our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Email address and, if you give them, your club, group size and message | To email you about the pilot, launch and product updates you asked for, and to consider your group for the pilot. Consent. |
| Confirmation and consent records | To show you agreed and to respect your choices, including unsubscribes. Legitimate interests. |
| Enquiry emails and our replies | To answer you. Legitimate interests; legal obligations for some rights requests. |
| IP address and request logs held by our hosting provider | To run and protect the website and investigate faults or abuse. Legitimate interests. |
| Analytics cookies and page activity, only if you accept them | To understand how the website is used (Google Analytics). Consent. |
You can read the site without joining the waiting list or accepting analytics. Club, group size and message are optional. We do not ask for a date of birth on the waiting list, and we do not use the list to make any decision about betting or gambling.
Your email choices: unsubscribe from the link in any of our emails or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did lawfully before. We keep a small suppression record so we do not add you back by mistake.
Part 2: the app
| Information | Why we use it and our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Email address | To sign you in (a six-digit code is sent to it), to send you invitations and, if you choose, updates. Performance of our agreement with you. |
| Your chosen name (alias) and, if you add it, your full name | Your alias identifies you to the members of your friends groups on the table and in everyone’s predictions. Your full name is visible only to the admins of your groups, to help them tell members apart. Performance of the agreement. |
| Friends group and game memberships, invitation links you use, approvals | To run the groups and games you are part of. Performance of the agreement. |
| Predictions, Jokers, season picks, points and league positions | To run the game. After a match’s deadline your prediction is visible to the other members of your game; points and positions are visible to them all season. Performance of the agreement. |
| Actions by you or by admins on your behalf (for example an admin entering a prediction you asked for) | To keep an accurate, checkable record of the game. Legitimate interests. |
| Sign-in cookies (tt_id, tt_refresh and, during sign-in, tt_auth) | Strictly necessary to keep you signed in on your device. No consent is needed for these and they are not used for tracking. |
| Technical logs | To run and protect the app and fix faults. Legitimate interests. |
Who can see what: members of your friends group see your alias, your predictions once a match’s deadline has passed, and your points and position. Admins of your group also see your email address and full name. Nobody outside your groups sees any of it. Terrace Tally staff can access data to run the service and support you.
Leaving: you can ask to leave a group or to have your account deleted by emailing hello@terracetally.com. Predictions already scored stay in the game’s record under your alias so the table stays consistent for the others; we remove your email and full name.
Who helps us provide the service
Website: WP Engine (hosting), MailerLite (waiting list and update emails), Google Analytics (optional measurement) and Microsoft 365 (email). App: Amazon Web Services in the UK and Ireland (hosting, sign-in and email delivery). Authorised staff and providers only access information where needed for their work. We disclose information where the law requires or to protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
Some providers process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the UK’s adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement and Addendum. Ask us for details.
How long we keep information
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Waiting list entry | Until you unsubscribe, or 12 months after the pilot ends if we have not launched |
| Unconfirmed waiting-list entry | 30 days |
| Enquiries | 12 months after they are resolved |
| Consent and suppression records | 3 years after the last contact |
| Hosting and security logs | As set by the provider, typically 30 days |
| Google Analytics data | 2 months (user and event data) |
| App account and game data | While your account is active and for the season’s record afterwards; personal details removed on request or 24 months after your last sign-in |
| Backups | Up to 35 days after deletion |
Some information may have to be kept longer for a legal obligation or a specific dispute.
Younger players
Terrace Tally involves no betting and is not limited to adults. During the pilot, players join by invitation from an adult who runs their group. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without a parent or guardian’s agreement. If you have a question about a child’s information, email hello@terracetally.com.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, restrict how we use it or get a copy you can take elsewhere. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Some exceptions apply. Email hello@terracetally.com; we may need to check who you are. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, though we would like the chance to sort it out first.
Changes
We will update this notice when our practices change and show the date at the top. A material change will be flagged in the app or by email.
